DAILY DOG WALKS

WANT TO GIVE YOUR DOG THE BEST LIFE?

MAKE SURE THEY GET AT LEAST ONE WALK A DAY!

Most dogs want to explore the world outside. If they are kept inside for too long, not only do they get bored, but they also may misbehave when outside because they are overwhelmed at all of the exciting sights and smells.

This is why daily dog walks are a critical component of your dog’s health. Walking your dog provides mental stimulation, physical exercise, socialization with other dogs and people, and opportunities for behavioral training as different real world scenarios are encountered. Daily walks are so much more than just giving them a “potty break”!

REGULAR DOG WALKS PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR:

MENTAL STIMULATION

PHYSICAL EXERCISE

SOCIALIZATION

BEHAVIORAL TRAINING

MENTAL STIMULATION

You know how excited your dog gets at just the mention of a “walk”! There is almost nothing that a dog enjoys more than exploring the outdoor world – it tantalizes all of their senses and gives them confidence that the outside world is not a scary place – it’s a place of awe and wonder.

PHYSICAL EXERCISE

A general rule of thumb is that a dog should have 30 minutes of activity per day. So if you are not playing ball with your dog or walking him daily for 30 minutes, it is likely they aren’t getting enough exercise to keep them fit, trim and healthy. That’s where we come in!

SOCIALIZATION

According to the AVMA, socialization is the process of preparing a dog to enjoy interactions and be comfortable with other animals, people, places and activities. Without socialization, dogs can become anxious or fearful of anything unfamiliar. Daily dog walks are ideal opportunities to socialize–so your dog can thrive and delight in the outside world.

BEHAVIORAL TRAINING

While our team are not dog trainers, we can help reinforce behavioral basics at your request. So if you are working on your dog “sitting” calmly before crossing the door threshold for a walk or providing them treats if they pass another dog calmly we are happy to continue that training with your guidance.

HAVING A YARD DOES NOT MEAN YOUR DOG IS GETTING EXERCISE!

Don’t expect your dog to create their own exercise routine just because you’ve put them outside in the yard. Dogs don’t self-exercise; instead they prefer exercise with interaction – like playing ball or going on a walk with their dog walker!
