The 31st annual Professional Pet Sitters Week takes place next week! This special observance, introduced by Pet Sitters International (PSI) in 1995, honors the dedicated individuals who provide professional in-home pet care services. The History of Professional Pet Sitters Week
The roots of Professional Pet Sitters Week trace back to Patti J. Moran, who started her own pet-sitting business in 1983. At the time, professional pet sitting was an unheard-of service. Moran’s passion for pets and her innovative business idea led her to create Pet Sitters International in 1994.
PSI introduced Professional Pet Sitters Week in 1995 with three primary goals:
